POTS! I need some.

So I have like 5ish plants that need homes really bad.  And I know it's a little late in the season for planting things but still, they need knew homes.  So I did a little Etsying (that site will CONSUME YOU), and these are the things I would buy if I had monies.

Pigeon Toe Ceramics

Pigeon Toe is located here in Portland, OR and I actually interned above her studio/shop and got to see first-hand how to successfully run a company.  Her stuff is totally amazing and I definitely recommend checking out her Etsy page.

Weird!

So maybe I was googling (googleing??) myself and I found some work I did in college.  Cool!  I'm going to pimp out one of my pictures now, yay!  So this is an assignment I did in 2008, the nice lady is colored pencil and marker and I uploaded and edited her in Photoshop.  She was super fun to draw!

Ice cold

Gotta love that Free People blog, they have some pretty adorable DIY projects.  This one is super easy and maybe I'm posting it just because I like the picture.  Look how pretty!

Yes

I'll take one please. Thanks guys.

Oh, and I must say that it took me, like, 10 clicks to get from tumblr to pinterest to a website that linked me to this website where I never actually found this piece. So... thanks internet. I'll never know where to find this set of drawers that are probably totally within my price range and not expensive at all.

Internet learnings

Google reader you guys.  I just figured it out.  Like a week ago.  I'm so bad at the internet!  But I'm totally figuring it out.  I mean look at this blog I'm blogging on...in?  Anyway, one of the first blogs I started following on the reader was Dwell and I hiiiiiiiiighly recommend it.  The hubs and I have been kinda looking at houses to rent and getting to see the houses featured on Dwell is getting me super pumped about someday getting to make homeowner decisions.  (Don't laugh at me current homeowners, I'm allowed to get excited about my future mortgage ok?)  Anywho, the first house I saw on Dwell was the Maxon house.  So far the first half of this families move to the country outside Seattle to build on 21 acres has been an excellent read and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the construction of their house begin.  The house is being designed by this guy(!) and his work is simply mind-blowing.  Here's some pictures of the Maxon property and some super cool houses designed by Olson Kundig!

An actual post

Cool, it looks like I did a successful post!  I guess I'll tell you a little about me and this blog.

I know the name of the blog is nothing new on the internet, ahem, but I chose it because I'm at an interesting point in my life where I have NO IDEA WHAT I WANT TO DO.  I have a degree from Auburn University in Apparel Merchandising, Design and Production Management.  Sounds cool right?  I mean it totally is, BUT I'm not really sure what I want to do with it anymore...I thought I would find a cool, small company to work for; providing my creative input, working on sketches, designing mood boards and picking out color swatches, but as it turns out they aren't really handing out those jobs.  WHO KNEW??

SO, I'm currently working as an associate at Anthropologie and I kinda totally love it.  I mean I'm just a sales associate but I know there are lots of opportunities to move up and I definitely plan on doing so.  And I'm still looking around for other opportunities (hello creative gigs!), and using the good old internet to absorb as much as possible in the design world (interior, exterior, apparel, everything) and I'm going to use this blog to show you guys what I see, what I like, what other people like, cool stuff in general.  So here's some pictures!

(This is how you use blogspot, right??)

These  pictures are from the freepeople blog and http://weheartit.com/

Me? A blog??

My first post ever you guys!  I should probably tell you about myself but...I'm not going to!  I'm just figuring out google reader so I thought I would post something that looked neat!
